Refined cinematic meditation on life and death, based on developments in the life of a midwife (a beautiful role by Ning Baizura).
A story of a midwife in a country village. She tries to survive after she has lost her daughter and her husband to an illness that may not be named. As a young Moslem woman, she has to understand the contradictions of her faith and her need for love, as well as the discrimination from her village. From the understanding she now receives as midwife and widow, she is able to experience happiness and hope in the natural cycle of death and birth.
